Rohacell® Foam Core
Aerospace, medical, transportation, marine and industrial applications◾Can be used in prepreg and resin infusion processes◾No CFCs
ROHACELL® is a closed-cell rigid foam based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which does not contain any CFCs. We offer ROHACELL foam in numerous densities and size options. It is commonly used in aerospace, transportation and marine applications. Please call Rock West Composites at 801-566-3402 or contact us at email@example.com if you have questions about the technical properties of this core.
ROHACELL® IG-F has a smaller cell structure, and because of those smaller cells, it takes up less resin where the cells have been cut open. At any rate, all of the foam's mechanical and thermal properties remain unchanged. This core is most often used for x-ray and CT table tops, as well as automotive, watercraft and other industrial applications.
These cores are particularly suitable for prepreg processing, but can also be used in, for example, resin infusion and RTM processes up to temperatures of ~260F and pressures of 0.3 MPa.
Rohacell® RIST is designed for use as a structural core in connection with vacuum infusion processes. Its cell size represents an optimal compromise between low resin uptake and great bonding of the facings to the foam core.
It is used for infusion components in aerospace applications and in sports equipment and automotive structures. Its optimized cell structure makes it suitable for vacuum infusion and RTM processes, where it can be used at temperatures of ~260F and up to a pressure of 0.7 MPa.
