Enables increased stiffness and decreased weight assemblies◾ Corrosion resistance◾ Great thermal properties
Core materials are generally used for sandwich structured composites which are a special class of composite materials that is fabricated by attaching two thin but stiff skins to a lightweight thick core. The core material is normally low strength material, but its higher thickness provides the sandwich composite with high bending stiffness with overall low density.
Aramid is an aerospace-grade aramid fiber honeycomb exhibits outstanding flammability properties. It is manufactured from Meta-Aramid paper (sometimes branded as Nomex®, a DuPont® brand) and coated with a heat resistant phenolic resin.
Aramid honeycomb uses include aircraft galleys, flooring, partitions, aircraft leading and trailing edges, missile wings, radomes, antennas, military shelters, fuel tanks, helicopter rotor blades and navy bulkhead joiner panels.
ROHACELL® is a closed-cell rigid foam based on polymethacrylimide (PMI) chemistry, which does not contain any CFC's. We offer ROHACELL foam in numerous densities and size options.
It is commonly used in aerospace, transportation and marine applications.
