Adhesives are the preferred method for joining composites. Rock West Composites offers multiple types of adhesives to fit your needs. Structural epoxies can be used to form a permanent joint as strong as the underlying composite. In fact, many modern airplanes are glued together with structural adhesives! Using adhesives is preferred over mechanical fasteners in most situations since no drilling or machining is required, therefore no fibers need to be cut and maximum strength can be maintained.
