Policies and Terms

Quick Shipping

  • If we have an item in stock, we generally ship your order within 24 hours on regular business days. For planning purposes, most off-the-shelf items will be available within 4-6 weeks, if not in stock. Larger quantities may take longer.
  • Next Day Air and any other expedited services are available, but not guaranteed to ship same day. Most orders are processed through the warehouse the day after the order is received.
  • If you have an order that must ship out the same day, please phone us prior to 1pm MST to determine whether or not we can fulfill your request.
  • If an item is not in stock, we will give an expected lead time for production and keep you updated.
  • If you need to verify availability, please call us to check inventory status at (801) 566-3402.

Returns


  • All returns are subject to a 25% re-stocking fee.
  • Used/damaged/modified goods are not returnable or refundable.
  • Buyer must make return requests within 30 days of the date on the invoice.
  • All returns must include an RMA # (Return Material Authorization) issued by RWC.
  • Goods must be shipped to RWC by Buyer within seven days of issuance of RMA #.
  • No returns or exchanges of Built to Order items, dry fabrics, items with shelf life, discounted items, or closeout items.
  • No returns or exchanges of prepregs except in cases of manufacturing defects. RWC must be contacted within 48 hours of delivery for return eligibility on defective prepreg.
  • No returns or exchanges on items modified from their original length and finish (sanding, drilling, or cutting), including work done at our facility.
  • All high-dollar (>$1000) or large-quantity (>20 items) orders are not returnable.
  • Buyer shall pay the cost of return shipping and insurance unless the product is defective/incorrect.

Exchanges

  • Eligible for full refund (less shipping costs). If exchanged order is the same price or more, no restocking fee will be collected on the exchanged items.
  • Exchange requests must also be made by buyer within 30 days of date of invoice.
  • All exchange requests must include an RMA # (Return Material Authorization) issued by RWC or the shipment will be denied by RWC.
  • Goods that are returned in used or damaged condition will not be eligible for refund.

Payment Terms

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS:

For immediate approval, orders may be placed using VISA, MasterCard, or American Express.



CREDIT TERMS:

RWC may, at its discretion, choose to extend credit terms to high volume customers. If you would like to speak to someone about credit terms, please submit a quote request.

RWC reserves the right to revise credit terms based on credit history.


PAST DUE ACCOUNTS:

RWC reserves the right to withhold shipment of materials pending resolution of past due account balances.


PRICING:

RWC prices and discounts are subject to change without notice and do not include any state or local taxes. Buyer shall pay, in addition to the price of the goods, all applicable taxes and excises unless Buyer furnishes RWC with a valid “Reseller Number” or copy of tax exemption certificates. Prices are quoted and payable in US Dollars. All orders are subject to applicable shipping, freight, taxes, and handling charges.


TAX EXEMPTIONS:

If you believe your order should be tax exempt, you must be approved prior to sale. Please do the following:


Establish an online account with us, if you haven’t already.

Send an email to taxes@rockwestcomposites.com that includes your state’s proper exemption certificate/documentation as an attachment. Taxes are charges per the shipping address, not billing.

Be sure to reference the email address under which your RWC account has been created. This is how we will assign your exemption status.

You will receive a notice once you have been approved. This process normally takes 1-2 business days.

We will not be able to exempt you or refund sale tax if this process is not followed.

Shipment Terms

SHIPMENTS AND DELIVERY:

All goods are sold FOB RWC shipping point. Goods may be shipped in a single shipment or multiple shipments at RWC’s discretion. RWC will attempt in good faith to meet estimated shipping dates but shall not be liable to Buyer for any loss or damages due to delay caused by RWC.


INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:

We ship using UPS for all international orders. Certain products in our online store are not allowed to ship outside the U.S.A. You will be notified of these products at time of purchase and or upon purchase review by our staff. International shipments are subject to additional charges due to importation and customs fees. Rock West will not be responsible for reimbursement of these fees unless Rock West shipped erroneously. On occasion the charges automatically collected by the website may not be sufficient for the service. In this case we will reach out to you to collect the difference. Contact us for help with ECCN or HIS classification.


DAMAGED SHIPMENTS:

Shipments received by Buyer in a damaged condition must immediately be identified to Carrier. All claims for damaged shipments must be filed with Carrier.

Cancellations, Claims, Warranty

CANCELLATIONS:

Orders may be cancelled without cancellation charges provided the order has not been initiated by RWC.


CLAIMS:

All shipments should be checked immediately after arrival. All claims, whether referring to errors in pricing, mis-shipments, or defective goods, must be called in or e-mailed to RWC within 7 calendar days. All damaged goods and containers must be kept for inspection.


LIMITED WARRANTY:

RWC warrants that all goods shipped are free from defects in materials and workmanship. RWC cannot foresee all conditions under which RWC products will be used and therefore cannot warrant or guarantee any performance results. Buyers should always perform tests prior to using RWC products in any application. Buyer waives any claim against RWC for direct, indirect, consequential, or exemplary damages including without limitation, damage which may incur as a result of Buyer’s use or misuse of the product or the product’s failure to perform to any expected performance level.

Carbon Fiber Material Terms of Sale

Several of our carbon fiber products have terms of sale that are required by law. Our customers must agree to these conditions before we can process the sale. Below is the language in the agreement contract.


“By signing below you certify that the end use or the end user will not conduct any business related to the following with this supplied product:


  • military use, including, but not limited to prime contracts or contracts with a DPAS rating
  • conventional weapons and armaments research and development establishments
  • nuclear weapons or nuclear related activities or research
  • atomic power plant or atomic research institutes
  • production of heavy water
  • institute of science and technology
  • radiological facilities
  • chemical or biological weapons or research
  • rocket systems (include, but are not limited to, ballistic missile systems, space launch vehicles, and sounding rockets)
  • Unmanned Air Vehicles (include, but are not limited to, cruise missile systems, target drones and reconnaissance drones)

You also agree:


  • you will not resale or export this material
  • the product that you produce using this product will not be sold or transferred at any time or in any manner to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria, or their governments or companies owned or controlled by their governments, or any Cuban entity (for now).”
