Manufactured using multiple layers of prepreg carbon fiber. Each layer is about 0.006 inches thick which means that a tube with a wall thickness of 0.060 inches will typically be composed of 9-10 individual layers of carbon fiber. The number of layers (plies) allows us to vary the orientation of the fibers throughout the thickness, creating an engineered high performance product.
Fabric roll wrapped tubing offers many benefits over uni-directional and even filament wound tubing. That isn't to say it is the best however. Here are a few reasons you may wish to consider fabric roll wrapped tubing for your application.
