Unlike metals which have similar properties in all directions (isotropic), the properties of composites are varying, dependent on the orientation of the fibers in each layer. This particular carbon fiber fabric tube has an internal diameter (ID) of 0.5" and an outer diameter (OD) of 0.635". The outer ply of material on this tube is a forged carbon fiber prepreg, made with 24mm individual carbon fiber strands, giving it a unique esthetic and isotropic strength. The core of this tube is comprised of multi-directional "uni" plies which makes most carbon fiber fabric & unidirectional tubes ideal for bending and compression applications. Lead time for this built-to-order tube is 3-4 weeks. Higher volume orders may be 8-10 weeks.
