Our braided carbon fiber tape is a non-adhesive backed strip that expands by about 20-25% of their original/nominal diameter and they pull down by about 60% of the nominal. It can be made waterproof when combined with other materials like epoxy. Fiberglass will be heavier, and not as "stiff" as carbon fiber. It's a great option for fixing boats, surfboards, and other items where weight is not a key factor. Pound-for-pound, fiberglass is stronger than sheet metal or steel. Manufacturing parts from fiberglass builds strength directly into a finished product, much more so than using standard injection molded or non-reinforced plastics or materials.

This braid is sold by the linear yard where 1 in the shopping cart is equal to 36" in length x 2.0" (the width). If you purchase more than 1 in the cart, you will be supplied with the material in continuous format, i.e. if you purchase quantity 5, you will receive 36" x 5 = 180 inches x 2.0".
