Please note we cannot control the OD of unsanded filament tubing as tightly as the sanded filament tubing. The listed OD is a theoretical value.
These filament wound, high modulus, torque layup tubes are the perfect fit if you require a tube for a torsional application, and/or lengths longer than the standard 72 inches. Filament winding is a more automated manufacturing process which allows for economical carbon fiber tubes in large scale production. The long continuous fibers not only add to the strength and stiffness of the tube but also make it possible for us to provide long lengths up to 168 inches long. The high modulus fiber used to manufacture this part also improves the stiffness of the tube. This ~1.63 inch tube is sold by the foot. Although the unsanded, gloss finish provides a uneven outer diameter due to the bumpy texture of the filament tube we still achieve a tight tolerance on the 1.5 inch inner diameter.
